Dear Parents and Carers,

This week

Welcome Back!

We hope all our families had a relaxing and enjoyable October break. It has been wonderful to welcome our pupils back to school and hear all about their holiday adventures. The children have returned refreshed, motivated and ready for a busy and exciting term ahead.

Visit from Argyll and Bute School Review Team

This week, we were pleased to welcome Mr Docherty and Ms Housten into the school to look at teaching and learning across all stages. The team visited classes, spoke with staff and pupils, and observed learning throughout the school.

We are delighted to share that they were highly impressed with the positive relationships evident across our school community. They commented on the excellent behaviour, manners and respectful attitudes demonstrated by our pupils, as well as their strong work ethic and enthusiasm for learning.

We are incredibly proud of all our children and staff for showcasing the values and strengths of Kirn Primary School so well.

Star of the Month

A huge congratulations to our Star of the Month pupils! These children have been recognised for their hard work, positive attitude and commitment to learning.

Well done to all our award winners. We are very proud of your achievements.

Halloween Fun Ahead!

We are looking forward to our Halloween activities taking place next week. Pupils can expect a range of fun, creative and spooky experiences as we celebrate together. If anyone can loan us any spooky decorations we would be very grateful. They can be handed in at the office for our Halloween Team.

Thank you to families for your continued support. We look forward to another successful and enjoyable term at Kirn Primary School.

Head Pupils Report

This week the classes of Kirn Primary have been working on a variety of different topics, experiments, artwork and mega mystery solving.

Primary 2b have made skeleton artwork out of cotton buds, replicating the human body. They have also been learning about germs for their bread experiment.

Some of our classes have started their new topics. P5 have been learning about the Victorians. P4 and P3/4 have also started their topic on the Wild West. P7/6 have WW1 as their topic of the year.

P6 have started their mega mystery solving case, learning about ‘who stole the trophy?’

Our teams of pupil leadership have been enjoying their new jobs of responsibility. These roles include the Head Pupils, House Captains, Vice Captains, Pupil Council, library leaders, janitorial team, playground buddies, Eco Council, MUGA coaches and the tech team.

Also, a quick reminder that the Halloween Disco is the 29th October!
