This week
It has been another busy and enjoyable week in school, with lots to celebrate!
➕ Scottish Maths Week
This week we have been celebrating Scottish Maths Week, with pupils taking part in a range of engaging activities across the school. It has been wonderful to see everyone enjoying maths, solving problems, working together and recognising how important maths is in our everyday lives. Well done to all our pupils for their enthusiasm!
📸 School Photographs
Our school photographs took place at the beginning of the week. The children looked very smart, and we look forward to seeing the finished photographs.
⭐ Stars of the Month
Congratulations to our Stars of the Month, who have been recognised for going “Over and Above”. These pupils have demonstrated an extra-special effort through their attitude, behaviour, kindness or contribution to school life. We are very proud of them and hope they continue to be wonderful role models for others.
On Thursday after school the Good Food Project sponsored by Cowal Kirk gave out free bags containing all the ingredients to make an autumnal apple crumble. Many thanks to all involved in this generous community initiative.
Active Schools came into school on Tuesday to train our new playground buddies and MUGA coaches. The children had a great time and have already started to put their skills to use on the MUGA pitch, running multi sports activities. Miss Black also began training our new library leaders. They all completed a book review of their favourite book which will be displayed in the library.

IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS PLEASE CONTACT THE SCHOOL. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR CURRICULUM AND WE WOULD ENCOURAGE ALL CHILDREN TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS OPPORTUNITY.
📅 Looking Ahead to Next Week

All parents and carers are warmly invited to attend. It would be lovely to see you there.
- Wednesday 30th September: Head Teacher Conference
I will be attending a Head Teacher Conference during the day. - Thursday 1st October, 5.15pm: P1 and P7 Charter Launch
We are delighted to be launching our P1 and P7 Charter. We look forward to sharing this important initiative with our families. A Microsoft Teams link has also been provided for anyone joining remotely. - Friday 2nd October: Whole-School Fundraiser
We will finish the week with a whole-school fundraising event. Money raised will go towards supporting school trips throughout the year, helping us to provide valuable experiences and opportunities for all our pupils. Thank you, as always, for your support.
Head Pupils Report
This week it was Scottish math week and the classes of Kirn have been working on a variety of activities.
P3 and P7/6 have excelled in the Sumdog competition. P3 have come 1st in the school. Well done P3! Some of the students in P7/6 have come in the top 1000 which is a fabulous achievement.
P2b have been learning about the greater than and less than symbols.
The P1 classes have been making patterns with different types of materials such as playdoh, sand and paint.
Last but not least, P7 have been planning a refugee journey from Syria to Kirn as part of the novel study, tracking how many kilometers and how much time it takes to travel from there.
